The Washington County Board of Supervisors appointed a new Cedar Township Trustee at their Tuesday meeting. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer gives more information on the individual, “There’s an unexpired term, presently Cedar Township Trustee and a gentleman named Kurt Dallmeyer has agreed to complete that term. It ends in December of 2024, a little over a year from now.”  Township trustees are responsible for directly providing or contracting for fire protection and emergency services, maintaining cemeteries, enforcing fence regulations, and other tasks as needed. Township officers consist of three trustees and one clerk, who are required to meet at least twice a year.
