The Washington City Council discussed setting a public hearing for the fiscal year 2024 budget amendment for December 19th. City Finance Director Kelsey Brown gives insight on the need for the hearing, “One of the large ones is for the cemetery, so the budget was originally worked on to add two full-time people in the budget, as we worked through it, we discovered that that was not going to happen. There just wasn’t funding for that, so we did take out the second person, but we did some other things back in.”  The public hearing was set for December 19th during their next scheduled meeting.
