Governor Kim Reynolds signed an extension of the harvest proclamation on Monday, relating to the weight limits and transportation of grain, fertilizer, and manure. This is the third extension from the Governor this year, with Monday’s extending through January 11, 2024.
The proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, and manure to be overweight without a permit. This applies to loads transported on all highways within Iowa, with the exception of the interstate system. Vehicles must not exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight, or the legal maximum axle weight limit of 20,000, while also complying with posted limits on roads and bridges.
