The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard a report from the Washington Economic Development Group at their Tuesday meeting. Executive Director Mary Audia gave the report, “County governments definitely play a vital role in stimulating and supporting local economic development, and enhancing the economic mobility of its residents. And by collaborating or working with local economic development groups, business associations, and other non profits, county governments can definitely leverage their resources, their expertise, and their networks to address the specific needs and opportunities of their local economies.”  A funding request was also presented to the board for the amount of $23,000 which goes to the continued development of Washington County. The board will vote on the funding request in a future budget meeting.
