Two Southeast Iowa Super Conference teams had wrestling duals away from home last night. Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union won both of its duals on the road, defeating Wapello 72-9 and Van Buren County 75-6. Senior Ty Scorpil pinned his opponent at 126 pounds against the Indians, as did junior teammate Sheaden Adams at 157 lbs; senior Cole Storm at 165; junior Riley Kaalberg at 190; junior Cooper Buffington at 215; and senior Russell Coil at 285.

Adams and Scorpil also picked up pins against VBC, while sophomore Bowen Thomson won a 7-6 decision at 132 lbs. Columbus/WMU also got pins to win against the Warriors from sophomore Trevor Phillips at 150; senior Ian Estudillo at 120; and junior Kohlby Newsom at 138.

WACO was beaten in both of their duals yesterday in Mediapolis, losing 76-7 to Burlington Notre Dame and falling 60-23 to the host Mepo. Junior Louden Huisenga had the Warriors’ only points against Notre Dame with a pin at 190 lbs, while junior Gage Samo won by technical knockout at 113 against the Bulldogs.

Seniors John McLaughlin and John Stauffer joined Huisenga with pins against Mediapolis at 126 and 285, respectively. While WACO is heading to Iowa City Regina tomorrow, Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union will be wrestling this weekend at Fort Madison.
