U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley told KCII News about his questioning of FBI Director Wray at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, “We get reports from whistleblowers that there is sexual harassment against female FBI agents. We also get evidence that if somebody is being punished for it, lower-level employees get punished more than higher-level employees do for this sexual harassment. By the way, sexual harassment against anybody is wrong it shouldn’t be going on in the FBI. So here is what happened when I wrote a letter a few months ago when I was trying to get information from the FBI Director. He was asked by AP (Associated Press) about this information, he said we are not going to give it to AP until we give it to Senator Grassley. Well, he comes before the Committee and after months of asking and asking, and telling AP he is going to give it to us, we don’t have this information. So my question is, tell me all I need to know about how sexual harassment is handled in the FBI. And he said I don’t have that information in my head and I will get back to you. Well he better get back to me, but he hasn’t gotten back yet.” Before the committee gaveled in, Grassley characterized Wray’s testimony as an opportunity for the FBI to show the American people its work and begin restoring public trust. He urged a productive hearing with multiple rounds of questioning, recalling Wray cut last year’s hearing short. Wray left the hearing following just one round of questioning.
