Sigourney basketball came up short in a pair of games against Lynnville-Sully Tuesday night at home. The Savage boys were on the wrong end of an 18-7 run that pushed the Hawks ahead 30-18 at halftime, and Lynnville-Sully would stay in front the rest of the way en route to defeating Sigourney 52-41.
Sophomore John Berg had team highs of 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Savages, while freshman Ike Molyneux also scored 12 points and added four rebounds and four assists as Sigourney falls to 4-4.
The Savage girls trailed 18-5 after a quarter of play and could never catch 13th-ranked Lynnville-Sully, falling 44-21. Junior Josephine Moore came up with seven points and 13 rebounds to lead Sigourney, which drops to 6-3.
