The numbers highlight the success the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team has had getting out to a 6-3 start to the season before Christmas. Mid-Prairie is ranked in the top 10 of Class 3A in 10 different team and individual statistical categories.
As a group, the Hawks are sixth on the glass with 38 total rebounds per night, and sixth with 24 defensive boards per game. The Golden Hawks are sixth in the state with 14 assists per game and the Hawks have piled up four blocks per game, sixth most. Mid-Prairie is eighth in Class 3A, scoring 58 points per night.
Individually, freshman Brooklyn Schneider is the second best sharpshooter in the state from deep at 55% from beyond the arc. She is ninth in 3A with an 83% mark at the line. Junior Callie Huber is shooting 61% from the floor overall, seventh best in 3A, to go with her 10 boards per game, eighth most in 3A. Golden Hawk junior Brylee Gearhart is eighth in 3A with 1.4 blocks per game.
The Hawks are back in action on January 8th when they host Williamsburg.
