Last month, Jefferson County Conservation announced the addition of its new Naturalist, Austin Roe.
Roe, an Eddyville native, was formerly in the Marine Corps as a combat engineer. After four years of service, he received his post-secondary education at Kansas State University where he earned a degree in wildlife ecology and management. With a passion for the outdoors, he officially started with Jefferson County Conservation at the end of November.
Roe replaces Brittney Tiller, who had held the naturalist role with Jefferson County Conservation since 2019.
