Three different area wrestlers hit special individual marks for their careers during the first half of this season, as Washington’s Aaron Boone and Chase Greiner each reached 100 career victories and Sigourney-Keota’s Reanah Utterback earned her 100th career pin.
Both Boone and Greiner picked up victories for the Demons at the Mount Vernon Invitational that allowed them to hit the century mark. Boone was the runner-up at 132 pounds at Mount Vernon, his only loss in 19 bouts so far in his junior season. Greiner also earned a silver medal at 157 lbs and currently has a 16-2 record in his senior campaign.
Utterback is a perfect 23-0 and won another tournament title by claiming the crown at 115 lbs at the Chariton Invitational. The SK junior is the top-ranked wrestler in the state in the 110-lbs weight class.
