The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls wrestling team has spent winter break in the room getting ready for a strong second half of the season. The Hawks got to Christmas with a 6-4 dual record including victories over Colfax-Mingo, Nevada, Maquoketa, Camanche, Anamosa and Wilton.

In tournament action, the Hawks highest team finish was second at Wilton. They also finished third at West Liberty and fourth at North Scott. Ashlee Farrier leads the way in individual gold with three tournament championships. Austyn Sexton, Ellie Brenneman, Emmerson Moore and Mardie Berry have each won a title this year.

Berry and Brenneman are tied for the team lead with 21 victories this season. Sexton is second with 20 wins. Becca Westfall, Farrier, Sophie Miller, Moore, Ellie Callahan, Sam Stacey and Addyson Asher all enter the holidays over .500.

The Hawks will start the 2024 portion of their schedule Friday, January 5th in Riverside at the Highland Girls Tournament.
