Dougherty Park in Lone Tree will be undergoing a transformation in 2024, thanks to a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.

The City was the recipient of a fall grant worth $32,340, approximately half the cost of the playground renovation. Lone Tree Mayor, Josh Spilman, shared with KCII the plans for Dougherty Park, where the current equipment has been around for forty years. “We’re going to get rid of some of the old equipment that’s there. We’re going to keep the swing set and then add a new slide and equipment to walk on for the kids. Then we’re gonna put down new flooring for them.”

The Dougherty Park project is anticipated to begin in late spring, and should only take about a month to complete.
