Last month, the Lone Tree Community School District released a survey asking stakeholders to share their thoughts on a potential four-day school week. In a district update video, Superintendent Tyler Hotz presented some of that feedback.
As of December 22, 165 parents or guardians, 180 students in grades 6-12, and 39 staff members had taken the survey. According to the survey participants, support for moving to a four-day school week was seen in more than 64% of parents or guardians, 78% of students, and 82% of staff. More than 74% of each group also somewhat or strongly agrees that a four-day week will help attract and retain staff in the district.
Calendar options will continue to be a point of discussion for the Lone Tree CSD, with the topic included on each of the next four School Board agendas. The Lone Tree School Board meets today at 6:30 p.m. in the District Office.
