Industry Leaders,
producers, and finance experts within the farming community gathered together at the Washington County Ag Legislative Discussion hosted at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The event was held as an opportunity for attendees to meet with State Representative Heather Hora and Senator Dawn Driscoll before the upcoming legislative session. Senator Dawn Driscoll gives some insight into what they do, “I’m actually the chair of the Ag Committee in the Senate.  I also serve on Natural Resources, the Workforce Committee, State Government, Local Government, and Ways and Means. So, we’re very busy while we are up there; those are very busy and active committees. So, excited to get started this January, and we’ll see what this session brings.”  The Washington Chamber of Commerce plans on continuing these Legislative meetings this year to keep the Community up to date on the issues and what is being done in Des Moines.
