waco-3

The WACO Warriors needed overtime to get their first boys’ basketball victory of the new year Tuesday night when they defeated Louisa-Muscatine 63-61. Despite a 21-11 lead at the end of the first quarter that would stay in the double-figure margin at halftime, WACO saw their lead sliced down to eight going into the final quarter.

Louisa-Muscatine would come all the way back by closing regulation on a 16-8 run and sending the game to an extra period tied at 55. It would be a back-and-fourth OT session, but the Warriors would find a way to overcome the Falcons.

With the win, WACO improves to 6-1 in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and 6-3 overall. The Warriors are back in action tomorrow night when they host Pekin.
