The Washington City Council met on Tuesday evening. On the agenda was a resolution declining to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction for a land parcel. City Administrator Deanna McCusker explains what that means, “The City has a two mile radius that we have jurisdiction, and we can control kind of what happens. So, this is outside of the city limits, so it was brought to our attention, and because it’s a minor thing, they’re basically just wanting to separate the office building from the rest of the parcel. We are declining to exercise our jurisdiction.”  The Council approved declining their jurisdiction of the parcel.
