New Naturalist for Jefferson County Conservation, Austin Roe, issued a release this week informing residents of habitat restoration work underway at Pleasant Lake.
Habitat restoration at the Lake, which is located northeast of Fairfield, is being done to enhance woodlands for a wide range of wildlife species. It also includes thinning undesirable trees that take up valuable growing space for native plants, and in some cases eliminating trees that are encroaching on prairie areas.
