The Keota Eagles kept their undefeated boys’ basketball season rolling into 2024 by knocking off Colfax-Mingo 70-44 Friday night. A 24-8 lead after one quarter would only grow, as the Eagles are now 11-o, including a 9-0 record in conference play.
Keota and the Sigourney Savages also both came away with girls’ basketball victories Friday night. Keota grabbed the early edge by racing out to a 16-2 lead and never looked back, going to defeat Colfax-Mingo 55-23 to improve to 2-6 in the South Iowa Cedar League and 2-9 overall.
Sigourney’s 20-10 lead after a quarter of play against BGM would swell to 22 points by halftime, and the Savages would cruise to a 52-28 victory from there. Sigourney is now 4-4 in league play and 7-4 overall.
