The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard from the Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius at their Tuesday meeting to discuss the approval of the bridge inspection and rating program agreement for 2024 and 2025. Thorius gives more information on the agreement, “Agreement to do our bridge inspections, we are required federally to inspect our bridges generally every two years. So we’ve had Calhoun-Burns and Associates out of West Des Moines inspect our bridges for the last thirty-plus years. They’re one of the premiere consulting firms in regards to structures across the state of Iowa.” The Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the agreement.
