The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves sit atop the boys’ basketball standings in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference, and players from both WMU teams have been statistical leaders in the conference this season.

Forward Abram Edwards has been an all-around force for the Winfield-Mount Union boys, leading the Super Conference North in blocked shots and currently sitting second in rebounds. The senior is also second in field-goal percentage; fourth in total made shots and free-throw attempts; and fifth in both points scored and assists.

Junior Jake Edwards has been a shooting star for the Wolves, hitting the third-most three-point shots in the conference with 24. His 42.1-percent shooting mark from beyond the arc is tied for third, right behind teammate Cam Buffington shooting just under 43% from deep. The senior also has the fifth-most made free throws in the league for Winfield-Mount Union, which is a perfect 9-0 in conference action and 10-1 overall.

On the girls’ side, Madisen Kellogg is having a huge season for WMU. The sophomore is fourth in the Super Conference North in rebounding and second in scoring, with the most made shots in the conference and the fourth-most attempted shots.

Her 42.2% clip from the field is third in the league, and Kellogg also has the fourth-most made and third-most attempted free throws. Junior point guard Pacey Schlee’s 38 assists is fifth in the Super Conference North for the Wolves, who are 1-9 in league play and 3-10 in total.
