It’s been a brilliant season for Keota Eagles boys’ basketball, which is still undefeated 11 games in. So it should be no surprise to see so many players near the top of the statistical leaderboard in the East division of the South Iowa Cedar League.

Sawyer Stout has been the scoring sensation for Keota. The senior has poured in 230 points, second-most in the SICL East by just six, on both the second-most made and attempted field goals in the conference. Stout also has attempted the second-most three-point shots, and his 50.5-percent mark shooting the basketball is fourth-best in the league.

Cole Kindred has been a do-everything point guard for the Eagles. The senior leads the SICL East in assists and is second in steals, followed by senior teammate Aiden McGuire in fourth.

No one in the conference shoots a higher percentage from the field than Keota’s Evan Vittetoe, who is knocking down 64.4% of shots. The senior is also fifth in blocked shots.

Senior Tanner Waterhouse leads the league in long-range shooting by hitting 42.6% of his three pointers and hitting the fourth-most triples, while junior Billie Kindred is fourth in rebounds.

The Keota girls have been paced by a pair of juniors. No player in the SICL East is shooting better from beyond the arc than the 34% mark from point guard Kimberly Clarahan, who also has the second-most assists and third-most steals in the conference. Grace Conger joins her teammate as top five in the league in both three-point makes and attempts, and she’s also fourth in assists.

Sophomore Kennedy Jackson is shooting just under 44% from the field overall, fourth-best in the SICL East, to help the Eagles get to 2-6 in conference action and 2-9 overall.
