The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves earned a pair of home basketball victories against Louisa-Muscatine Thursday night. That included the WMU boys rolling past the Falcons 95-48. After leading 22-11 one quarter in, Winfield-Mount Union pushed the advantage to 53-24 at halftime and never looked back.

Senior forwards Cam Buffington and Abram Edwards scored 25 points each to lead the Wolves and also each handed out five assists, with Edwards also pulling down 15 rebounds.

Junior Jake Edwards hit four three-point shots on his way to 20 points, five assists and four steals, while senior Gabriel Hemsworth added 15 points, eight dimes and three thefts to power the sixth-ranked team in Class 1A to 11-1 overall and keep them undefeated through 10 games in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North.

The Winfield-Mount Union girls also defeated Louisa-Muscatine 41-37, using a 13-6 run in the third quarter to turn a tie game into a 31-24 lead and holding on from there. The Wolves improve to 2-9 in conference play and 4-10 overall. Both WMU teams will next face WACO Tuesday.
