A boil order that went into effect for Columbus City on Monday has been lifted.

The order was announced Monday morning for both Columbus Junction and Columbus City after a controller at the water tower froze. While the order was lifted in Columbus Junction on Tuesday, water samples from Columbus City have now come back free from bacteria as well.

All residents are now able to use tap water for all purposes, including drinking, brushing teeth, and preparing food.
