harvest-5

Governor Kim Reynolds announced this week another extension of the harvest proclamation, which relates to the weight limits and transportation of grain, fertilizer, and manure. This is the fourth extension of the proclamation, now extending through February 12.

This allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, and manure to be overweight without a permit until that date, as long as they do not exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight. The proclamation applies to loads transported on all highways within Iowa, excluding the interstate system. Vehicles must also not exceed the maximum axle weight limit of 20,000 pounds, and should continue to comply with posted limits on roads and bridges.
