On January 20, the Johnson County Human Trafficking Coalition is sponsoring an educational program to inform the public about a very real danger in the United States. Titled Human Trafficking Comes in Many Forms-It Happens Here, Too, the conference will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Iowa City Public Library.
A member of the Coalition’s leadership team, d Auge, tells KCII what attendees can expect this Saturday. “From about one to three o’clock we will have three keynote speakers speaking on human trafficking in general, focusing on minors and human trafficking, and then focusing on the attorney’s experience and pursuing justice in human trafficking.”
The final hour of the program includes breakout sessions with information targeted to youth, college students, community members, or advocates and care providers.
The human trafficking educational program is free to attend with no registration required. For more information, click here.
