The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities issued a Wind Chill Warning for the entire KCII listening area through Noon Tuesday, January 16th. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 45 below zero were observed. A wind chill watch was issued for the entire listening area through 9 am Wednesday morning. The record low temperature was tied in Washington on Sunday, January 14th, at -24 below zero. The previous record was set in 1957. The record was tied again on the 15th at -19 below zero and was last seen in 2009.
