The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed a solar project road use agreement at their Tuesday meeting. County Engineer Jacob Thorius gives more information, “The solar project company Goldfinch, with them in regards to their solar project and trying to help identify how roads are going to be, which roads are going to be used and how they will be taken care of. So, we started that process a while ago, the county attorney’s office reviewed it, they originally presented us with an agreement, we looked at it and it was ok, but for whatever reason I didn’t like the agreement originating from the developer, so. Reviewed some, found language from Linn County and modified theirs a little bit, had former county attorney John Gish reviewed it at the time, the current county attorney Nathan Repp reviewed it, so we think this is a general good agreement to have for any commercial solar, or utility scale solar project.” The agreement was approved by the board. The draft agreement will be used in the future for all solar utilities in Washington County.
