Iowa farmers and landowners who planted cover crops this past fall are reminded to apply for the State’s Crop Insurance Discount Program before the deadline on Friday, January 26.

The program, offered by the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship provides a five dollar per acre discount on spring crop insurance premiums to eligible Iowans. This is the seventh year of the program, which has enrolled nearly 2,000 farmers and one million acres of cover crops.
