The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard an annual report and funding request from Main Street Washington Executive Director Samantha Meyer at their Tuesday meeting. Meyer gives some details about Main Street Washington, “We’ve seen growth through our events. Tourism impact the spending for tourism visitor spending was up 16.8% this last year, and a lot of that has to do with our downtown draw, all of the new events we had this year, we had a new shopping event or a family event every single month, at least one. So, that was actually run by main street, in addition to all of the events that are put on by other community organizations.” The funding request was for the amount of $6,834, and will be decided on by the Supervisors at a later budget meeting.
