At their meeting on Monday, the Washington County Board of Supervisors heard the annual report and funding request from PAWS & More Animal Shelter. Shelter Director Amber Talbot gave the report, “Across the board, we took in about sixty-six more animals than usual. The big thing that changed this year, we did a lot more emergency housing for people, meaning, if there was displacement in any way or for a full range of reasons we did see an increase in that short-term housing.” The funding request was for the amount of $32,850 and is part of a five-year rolling average 28E Agreement that the shelter has with the board.
