Earlier this week, Federation Bank announced that there have been several reports of customers receiving fake texts from the bank asking to verify transaction information.

To protect its customers, Federation Bank uses debit card processor SHAZAM. When suspicious activity is detected on a debit card, Federation Bank customers will receive a text alert from 72718. This message will ask the card owner to confirm or deny the activity in question by replying “Yes” or “No”. If a customer does not have a mobile phone, they will receive an automated phone call instead from 855-219-5399. Federation Bank recommends its customers save these numbers to their contacts so they don’t miss any alerts.
