The City of Washington will begin the spring cleanup of Elm Grove & Woodlawn Cemeteries, of all decorations, flowers, grave blankets, etc., on March 1st at 7 a.m., weather permitting. Any decorations left after February 28th will be picked up and disposed of during the spring cemetery cleanup. Decorations that are acceptable to leave include Shepherds’ hooks, military markers, monument toppers, planted and potted flowers, and vase flowers. All decorations must be off of the ground and placed on monument stones or foundations. Any decorations left on the ground, if the decorations are not on monuments or monument foundations, will be removed and disposed of. Live flowers, whether potted or planted, wreaths, grave blankets, flags, etc., will be disposed of when they become unsightly. If you have any questions, you can contact Washington City Hall.
