The Hillcrest Academy Ravens had busy brooms on Dwight Gingerich Court Tuesday as they swept away Wapello in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader. The Raven girls opened the night with a 39-34 victory. Hillcrest doubled up Wapello in the first period 14-7 and led 24-16 at the break. The Ravens made enough plays in the second half to keep the Arrows at arms length down the stretch and secure the win. Hillcrest held the Arrows to just 25% shooting, including only 14% from three. Claire Withrow led the Raven attack with 18 points and a pair of assists. Delaney Shaw had nine boards. Annaka Greiner’s 11 points led Wapello. The win moves the Ravens to 4-14 on the year, the loss drops the Arrows to 6-15.

In the nightcap, Hillcrest completed the sweep with an exclamation point 70-43. The Raven boys were a wire-to-wire winner, leading 13-8 after the first and putting up 21 in the second quarter for a 34-21 advantage at half. Hillcrest outscored Wapello after the break 36-22 to finish the win. The Ravens are now 12-7 as the Indians fall to 7-13.
