The WACO Warriors picked up a victory in wrestling duals Tuesday night when they hosted the Lone Tree Lions and Van Buren County. WACO defeated Lone Tree 64-11, led by Louden Huisenga picking up a pin at 190 pounds. Fellow junior Deacon Bird did the same at 138 lbs, while Lane Bachman won a 17-9 major decision at 144. Freshman Cole Walmsley had the lone win for the Lions against the Warriors by picking up a technical knockout at 106.
Lone Tree also suffered a 42-18 loss to Van Buren, while WACO took a draw at 36 all against VBC. The Warriors had no head-to-head winners in their second dual, as they will now head home to prepare to host multiple area teams like the Lions at the annual WACO Warrior Invitational Saturday.
