The Columbus Community School District recently announced that a vote will be held next month to renew the District’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL). Registered voters will be asked to consider continuing the $0.67 levy on Tuesday, March 5.

In the past, PPEL funds at Columbus have gone towards updating softball and baseball lighting, the football scoreboard, basketball shot clocks, track resurfacing, musical instruments, the bus barn and secondary school painting, as well as other facilities or equipment.

Being a renewal vote, property taxes will not be raised based on the March 5 decision. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. and voters can cast their ballots at the Conesville City Hall, Columbus Junction American Legion, or Columbus Masonic Lodge.
