The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard the Historical Preservation Report and fiscal year 2025 funding request at their Tuesday Meeting. Michael Zahs with the Historical Preservation Commission gave the report, “Presently, the board gives us $4,750 a year. It comes in four installments, and we meet in April or May. State Preservation Month used to always be in May, so that’s when we would meet to give out the money.” There are fifteen organizations that the Historic Preservation Commission works with in Washington County.
