At their Tuesday meeting, the Washington City Council approved a 28E agreement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division for the fiscal year 2024 Tobacco Compliance Program. According to a memo sent from Washington Police Chief Jim Lester, the Police Department was invited to participate in the I-PLEDGE Tobacco, Alternative Nicotine, and Vapor Product enforcement program. They have participated in the program for many years, and during the last program, all retailers checked in Washington were in compliance. Each licensed retailer will be checked before February 15th this year.
