Washington Demons junior wrestler Aaron Boone is headed back to the state tournament after he won a second consecutive Class 2A district championship Saturday in Williamsburg. Boone improved to 42-1 this season by pinning the first wrestler he faced at 132 pounds and winning a 5-2 decision in the 2A District 12 finals.
After winning his sixth tournament of the season, Boone will now make his way back to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, where finished sixth in Class 2A at 120 lbs last season. First-round wrestling at this year’s Iowa High School Athletic Association state championships will begin Wednesday morning.
