At their regular meeting on Monday, February 5, the Wellman City Council awarded a contract for the construction of a splash pad.

The City is moving forward with The Henley Group LLC out of Muscatine after awarding a contract in the amount of $132,458. An initial estimate when bids were first being accepted was just over $103,000. The project manual has been prepared by Shive-Hattery, Inc. out of Cedar Rapids.

Construction of the Wellman splash pad, which will be located in North Park, is scheduled to begin this spring and be completed by the beginning of summer.
