At their regular session on Monday, the Highland School Board voted to move the District to a four-day week for the 2024-25 school year.

Initial plans are for the Highland CSD to primarily use Fridays as the off day in the calendar, with some utilized for staff professional development. In a letter from Superintendent Ken Crawford, the District is working to create a calendar as soon as possible so families can begin to plan out their year. The decision comes nearly a month after the Winfield-Mt. Union Board of Education voted for a four-day week. Meanwhile, other area districts like Keota, Columbus, and Lone Tree continue to collect data, with decisions expected to be made in the coming weeks.
