At their meeting on Tuesday, the Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed the want for public input on the Wind Energy Ordinance. Supervisors Marcus Fedler and Richard Young shared their thoughts on the need for public input, Fedler stated, “I would just like to encourage folks to call in and talk about the wind turbine ordinance specifically, or wind turbines in general. I’ve gotten a lot of the negative side of things, and I would like to hear as many alternatives as possible to make sure that we are going about this in the correct way.” Young follows that with, “I too have been getting conversations about the wind mills, I’ve heard from people who are contracting, I can see why they are contracting. And I’ve also heard from the other side. Like Marcus said, the more people we hear from the better, so we can make a good decision.” The draft of the Washington County Wind Ordinance is available on the county website for the public to view.
