As the Keota Community School District continues to weigh the pros and cons of a four-day school week, the first of two public forums will be held tomorrow evening.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, the public is invited to attend the forum, held at the Keota High School Lounge. Those in attendance may offer their thoughts, whether they be for or against a four-day week. An additional forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 29 in the Lounge as well.
In the KCII listening area, similar conversations have ramped up in the last several months, with the Winfield-Mt. Union and Highland districts already electing to move to a four-day school week in 2024-25. According to a survey released by the Keota CSD, 73% of participating students, 80% of parents, 74% of staff, and 71% of community members were in favor of shifting to a four-day week.
