The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was a discussion on transferring General Assistance responsibilities to HACAP. Supervisor Richard Young explained the reason for the change, “So we had a meeting about HACAP taking over General Assistance, we discussed that during our budget hearings, and HACAP came back and said hey we’ll do that for $1200 per year, and then they still would have the budgeted amount that we provide for the assistance.” The Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the transfer of General Assistance responsibilities to HACAP for the yearly price of $1,200 beginning July 1st.
