Beginning this week, the Winfield Public Works Department is in the process of adding more than a dozen new stop signs throughout the City.

Traffic issues were first raised by concerned citizens at a Winfield City Council meeting last June. The specific area in question was East Pine and South Chestnut, but following this discussion, the Council decided to review all uncontrolled intersections in Winfield. In a July 2023 meeting, the Council approved the installation of 18 stop signs, and one yield sign.

Winfield residents as well as motorists passing through are advised to use caution as the signs are installed over the next few weeks. A map of where the 18 new stop signs will be located can be found below.
