According to the most recent Fuel Report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose seven cents, averaging $3.01 across the State. This is still 20 cents down from a year ago and 26 cents lower than the national average.
Retail diesel prices were up three cents in Iowa for a statewide average of $3.83. One year ago at this time, diesel prices were 23 cents higher. At the national level, the average diesel price is $4.10. Wholesale ethanol held steady for the second week in a row at $2.16.
Propane prices also went unchanged in the last week, still at $1.59 per gallon in Iowa. Home heating oil, meanwhile, rose seven cents in the last week and is now up to $3.27. Natural gas rose 15 cents, and is currently priced at $1.76.
