The Lone Tree Lions had their best girls’ basketball season in school history this winter, setting a single-season record for wins and bringing home their first-ever conference championship with a 14-2 record in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Now, six players that helped lead the way to an unprecedented season for Lone Tree have earned all-conference status.
That includes guard Finley Jacque, who has been named first-team All-Super Conference North. The sophomore led the Lions in scoring and averaged nearly 15-and-a-half points, four rebounds, three assists and three-and-a-half steals per game.
Junior point guard Vivian Zaruba was an all-around force for Lone Tree by averaging nearly 7.5 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.5 steals per contest on her way to first-team honors as well. Ava Christofferson was second on the team in scoring and also put up nearly 7.5 points, three rebounds and 3.5 steals a game as a second-team selection.
Meanwhile, fellow sophomore Alyson Ford also makes the second team after dominating the low post with an average of six points, eight boards, two thefts and two blocked shots per game. Honorable mentions go to senior Avery Lisk and sophomore Rylee Shield, who played key roles in helping the Lions to an overall record of 19-4 this season.
