A brilliant second half of the season propelled Sigourney Savage girls’ basketball to an East division championship in the South Iowa Cedar League and a second-place finish overall in the conference, and five players who powered Sigourney to their success have received all-conference honors.
That group includes senior Carly Goodwin, who is a unanimous first-team selection. The Savage point guard averaged over 12-and-a-half points, four rebounds, three-and-a-half assists and two steals per game.
Forward Josephine Moore makes the second team after posting better than 10 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. Fellow junior Ava Fisch is named a second-team guard after putting up nearly 6 points and two steals a game. Seniors Erin Dawson and Amiya Smallwood receive honorable mentions for Sigourney, which went 19-5 this season, including a 10-4 record in conference play.
