The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday. They discussed changing the bylaws of the EMS Advisory Council. Supervisor Richard Young explains the need for the change, “They came to us last week, Jim Lester, the President and asked because they cannot get a quorum they haven’t been getting a quorum of seven members. Asked if we could change the bylaws or how to change the bylaws going from seven to five members. So they can have quorums at the meetings so that they can do business.” The Supervisors voted unanimously to change the bylaws of the EMS Advisory Council, but the Council will have to meet for two consecutive meetings to make the change to the quorum number. The EMS Advisory Council includes a seat for a mayor, councilperson or city administrator representing the cities of Riverside, Wellman, West Chester and Kalona, and then the same for the cities of Washington, Ainsworth, Brighton, and Crawfordsville. It also includes up to three other community persons. The council meets quarterly.
