It was quality over quantity for the WACO Individual Speech Team at February’s District Contest. Sending four members to compete at Mount Vernon High School, each earned a division 1 rating in at least one event and a trip to State. 

Levi Bachman and Jaklyn Cook both qualified in a pair of events. For Bachman, it was Improvisation and Prose. Cook earned the State nod in Spontaneous Speaking and Original Oratory. Brian Neal and John Stauffer were awarded division 1 ratings in Improv, while Stauffer also competed in Solo Musical Theater where he received a division 2 rating. 

The four will represent the Warriors at the 2024 Individual Speech State Contest on Saturday, March 9 at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids.
