Friday was a big day for Southeast Iowa at the annual Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor State Championship meet in Ames.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks won the Class 2A Indoor State Championship with 50 points, edging out second place conference rival Tipton’s 49. Jovi Evans won an individual State Championship for the Hawks. The sophomore sprinted by the field in the 200 in 26.73 seconds. She was also third in the 60m dash in 8.11 seconds. Greta Sieren was third in the 800 in 2:28.46. Emma Lueck placed fourth in long jump at 16 feet. Behla Schmidt was fifth in the 60m hurdles at 9.88 seconds. Sieren was sixth in the 400 at 1:03.73. Abby Fleming was eighth in 3000 at 11:22.00 and Brooklyn Stutzman was ninth in the same event at 11:25.33. Phoebe Shetler placed 12th in the 1500, Fleming was 16th in the same event. Annika Poll was 14th in the 800, Dakota Mitchell and Emma Lueck were 15th and 17th respectively in the 60 meters. Paige Safly was 17th in high jump. In relay events, the team of Mitchell, Safly, Lueck and Evans were state runners-up in the sprint medley at 1:58.08 and third in the 4×100 in 52.68 seconds. The team of Poll, Kendall Landstrum, Shetler and Sieren were eighth in the 4×8 in 11:06.77. Poll, Schmidt, Danielle Hostetler and Sieren were 15th in the 4×400 relay.

The Washington Demons were 11th in Class 3A with 23 points. ADM won the championship with 84.5. Top individual Demon finish went to Iris Dahl, fourth in the 1500 in 5:06.93. Jaedyn Moore was fifth in the 60m dash in 8.22 seconds. Moore was also seventh in the 200. Leighton Messinger placed sixth in the 60m hurdles at 10.43 seconds. Ryen Pepper was 10th in the same event. Lauren Horak was 12th in the 800, Quincy Griffis 15th in the 3000, Eden Levetzow 17th in the 200, Isabella Lujan 21st in the 1500, Ada Kendall 33rd in the 60m dash and Nelly Ponce-Cruz 42nd in the 60m hurdles. In relay events, the Washington team of Horak, Kendall Hinrichsen, Abigail Kleese, and Dahl were fourth in 10:24.41. Emery Walton, Messinger, Kendall and Moore were sixth in the 4×100 in 53.34 seconds and the 4×400 team of Levetzow, Messinger, Moore and Dahl were eighth in 4:22.14.

Hillcrest Academy placed 17th in Class 1A with 20 points. Lisbon won the team trophy with 41 points. Rya Scott led the Ravens, taking third in long jump at 15’7.25″. She placed fifth in the 60m dash and 400 in 8.18 seconds and 1:02.12 respectively. Marie Yoder was fifth in the 3000 in 11:36.36. Scott also placed seventh in the 200 in 27.63 seconds. Yoder was 11th in the 1500 and Delaney Shaw 15th in long jump.
